Privacy Policy
Itinerantur ("we", "us", "the app") helps groups plan trips together. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. We built Itinerantur to hold as little of your data as possible ourselves — your trip data lives in your own iCloud account, not on our servers.
Information we collect
Account information
Itinerantur uses Sign in with Apple. Depending on what you choose to share with Apple, we receive your name and either your real email address or a private Apple relay address. We use this only to identify you within the app and to your trip companions — it's never used for marketing.
Location
If you search for a place while adding a stop to an itinerary, the app uses your approximate location to bias search results toward nearby places. This only happens while you're actively searching — Itinerantur does not track or record your location in the background.
Trip content
Everything you and your trip companions add — itinerary stops, notes, polls and votes, expenses, travel details, packing lists, and profile photos — is stored so the app can function. This is the core purpose of the app.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your device registers for push notifications so we can alert you to trip activity (a new stop, a poll, an expense) added by someone else on your trip. We don't use push notifications for marketing.
How your data is stored
Itinerantur stores your data in your own private iCloud database, using Apple's CloudKit. We do not operate our own servers and do not have a copy of your trip data sitting on infrastructure we control. When you invite people to a trip, the relevant trip records are shared with them via CloudKit sharing — only with the people you specifically invite.
Your Sign in with Apple credential is stored securely in your device's Keychain and never leaves your device except to authenticate with Apple.
How we share information
We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services. The only sharing that happens is:
- With the other people on a trip you create or join, limited to that trip's content.
- With Apple, as the infrastructure provider for authentication (Sign in with Apple), sync and storage (CloudKit), and notifications (APNs) — governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Your choices
- Leave or delete a trip any time from within the app.
- Remove trip companions if you own a trip, from its Attendees tab.
- Sign out from your profile at any time.
- Delete your data by removing the app and clearing its iCloud data from your device's Settings, or by contacting us at support@itinerantur.app and we'll help.
Children's privacy
Itinerantur is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
